Unlike our oilseed sunflower field, these ornamental sunflower varieties branch and continuously produce new blooms to enjoy for a few weeks, so the bloom extends past our sunflower festival dates. Join us on Saturday, April 27th, from 11 am to 2 pm at Coppal House Farm in Lee, NH, as we celebrate our 20th year in the Lee NH farming community. Once we hit winter, our fields are covered in snow and we offer sleigh rides for couples and families. You can book a private sleigh or reserve seats on our public sleigh rides. SUNRISE IN THE SUNFLOWERS
Rescheduling is only an option if Coppal House Farm contacts you due to weather. If we do not have ideal snow conditions to be able to offer a sleigh rather than a wagon for your ride, you may opt to receive farm credit for the full amount of your reservation. In the summer, we have our very popular Sunflower Festival that runs from the last weekend of July into the first weekend of August. Once our large culinary sunflower fields have past bloom, we have a one-acre Variety Garden that is available for guests.
The Draft Horse Whisperer
Once they are passed bloom, the fields are closed for visiting. Our crops are rotated around the farm for the health of the soil, so our corn maze is a different experience every year. Depending on the weather, the corn maze has been planted by our Belgian Draft Horses and it is almost always harvested by them. Our corn is not of the human eating variety, instead it is a feed corn used for the nourishment of our sheep flock and our horses.

When oilseed crops are processed into culinary oil, they also provide a byproduct that is high in protein and valuable as a livestock feed source. All of the crops that we grow can be fed in some way to at least only of the livestock breeds on our farm. This reduces the amount of bagged grain that we have shipped into the farm from surrounding states, therefore lowering our carbon footprint. The snow is long gone, the birds are chirping, and the trees are blooming, which means that spring is finally here.

At this farm, you can pick your own strawberries in the spring. During the fall months, the farm offers a beautiful pumpkin patch and have a very popular corn maze. Throughout out the spring, they offer strawberry picking. They host field trips for scout troops, home school groups, school classrooms and church groups. Guests are invited to visit the Gilchrist Farm and you learn how to milk the goats, gather eggs or take a horseback-riding lesson. While we are a livestock farm, we are not a petting farm. Our animals are being rotated each day around our pastures so they receive the best graze and we use electrified fence to protect them. Our horses may be working on any given day or may be out to pasture as well. We have specific events where we open our barns for viewing our livestock. For those unfamiliar with the term “poor farm” they were large complexes funded and run by counties or towns to house the poor and destitute, which were often the elderly and disabled. These places were also working farms, complete with fields, orchards, and livestock, which were tended to by the more able-bodied residents, the farm aspect supplied the residents with food, and the excess was sold for profit.
Plan accordingly, please remember that this is an outside event with uneven terrain. Please call ahead prior to your visit to discuss your needs. This farm has been in existence since the 1740’s and we try to maintain it’s historical integrity with modern functionality. No party preference voters account for more than a fifth of the electorate. All tickets for our Sunflower Variety Garden are available to purchase in our farm store. Join our egg CSA to be guaranteed the freshest eggs all year round.
Answer the question incorrectly and you will be sent the longer way or the wrong way entirely. Our trivia is geared toward a wide range of ages from the young to the young at heart. Those that welcome more of a challenge are free to enter the corn maze through the exit where the trivia will provide no help at all. In the field adjacent to the corn maze, you are welcome to plan other activities or games that follow your school curriculum. We have had school groups bring giant parachutes, plan a scavenger hunt, and have story time.
Other factors to consider are situations that may affect operations at the farm caused by weather. This year we have also planned to have our Variety Garden in bloom throughout the month of August so people can continue to enjoy beautiful sunflowers right up to the opening of our Corn Maze. Coppal House Farm holds itself to high standards, trying to keep all of its vistas scenic and beautiful.

Our sunflowers are harvested every fall to press the seeds into culinary oil, however, they are a sight to behold while they are blooming. Oilseed sunflowers bloom and begin to turn their heads to start drying their seed after only about 12 days. This means that we have a limited window to enjoy them in. This window is when we hold our Sunflower Festival; when they are the most beautiful.

At Little Creek Acres Farm there are dairy goats and sheep who know their names, chickens you can visit, cats that talk to you, farm dogs who love attention, as well as a veggie garden and an orchard to explore and learn in! A two and a half hour experiential learning tour for youth groups of 5 to 90, ages 6 and up, scheduled March through November. Tapia Brothers Farm is a family-owned and operated produce stand in the San Fernando Valley. During the fall, they offers the opportunity to experience a class pumpkin patch. They also sell Christmas trees during the winter season.

In only one season of feeding our own grain, our processing locations for our livestock have commented on the tenderness of the meat that they process from our animals. We attribute that increase in quality solely to the sunflower meal. We grow over 14-acres of sunflowers that we cold-press into unrefined, Non-GMO sunflower oil using traditional extruding methods. We started preparations for a corn maze only months after moving to Lee. With only a folding table and an umbrella for a booth, the first Coppal House Farm corn maze opened in the fall of 2005. What used to exist only as an idea has flourished into a highly diversified, self-sustaining farm.

We are making life-long connections with the people that visit us, and we are changing how our community thinks and feels about the food they eat. The area continues to sit, unused, with perhaps the exception of the Administration Building, a Spanish Revival style structure built in 1926. The building had several cars surrounding it during the time of my visit and has not fallen victim to lack of care, however it, like all of the other buildings is behind chainlink and barbed wire. If you wish to purchase an online ticket, you must do so by midnight the day before you wish to attend. Online tickets will be unavailable the same day of the event and will need to be purchased at the farm stand upon arrival. Ostrich Land is a fun side trip while visiting Solvang. There are about 50 these flightless birds at the ranch and their main purpose in life is to attract visitors.

Greenmount House, Dingle, is a luxury, 4 star rated, award winning, hotel-style guesthouse offering B&B accommodation within a short walking distance from the heart of Dingle. Greenmount House is privately owned and run by the Curran family since they opened to guests in 1977. Greenmount House is a modern, architect-designed guesthouse with free ample parking and its own private gardens. It is set on an elevated position, giving spectacular, panoramic views across Dingle Bay. Dingle town itself, with it’s wealth of fine restaurants, lively pubs, traditional music sessions and intriguing shops, is within 5 mins walking distance from the guesthouse.
The only complaint was that the toilet was so close to the shower door it made it difficult to get in / out. The toilet should have been placed on the other side of the sink. Also, I left a sweater there and no one from the property has reached out. If you booked through us and want to leave a review, please sign in first. Cribs and extra beds aren't available at this property. The location was very convenient and the view was wonderful.
